Celebrity Fashion designer - Vivienne Westwood

Fashion show models - Vivienne Westwood, children

From left to right; Vivienne Westwood vs. children.

Children are being employed as designers as they hand paint custom designs on clothing. Kids are good at splash paint prints, abstract designs and had drawn artwork. The children’s end product was so good that it would be a challenge to spot the difference between theirs and a high end fashion designer’s artwork.

Vivienne Westwood, an international fashion designer based in Paris, first discovered that children had talents to paint fabrics when a group of school children sent her their artwork for their school’s mini fashion show.

Vivienne asked the kids to paint themes and think about the messages. For example, she told the kids to be inspired by freedom fighters living in the jungle and paint jungle motifs for them.
